The Smoke Free Illinois Act banned smoking in all public
indoor places as of January 1st 2008
including bars, restaurants, businesses
AND PRIVATE CLUBS.
We're not expecting to overturn this law, but it is ridiculous
that there is no provision for a separate "SMOKING ROOM"
in a PRIVATE CLUB. A PRIVATE CLUB is not a public place!
The membership of a PRIVATE CLUB should have the ability
to designate a "SMOKING ROOM" in the same way you can smoke
a CIGAR in the privacy of your own home.
Fortunately, some legislators understand this issue and introduced
a bill to permit smoking in PRIVATE CLUBS.
Representative William B. Black
has sponsored
House Bill HB4104
that would allow for Private Smoke Clubs.
Add your name to Our Petition to let Legislators know
we demand the right to allow smoking in PRIVATE CLUBS.
